Laura Coccaro

Laura Coccaro is the Human Resources Generalist at Climate Focus, based in the Berlin office.

Before joining Climate Focus, Laura built a diverse and international career across governmental and commercial institutions in Italy and Greece. She brings in her experience in recruitment and operational HR for global organisations in Germany. Laura holds a Master’s degree in International and Multicultural Relations in the Euro-Mediterranean Area and a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Cultural Mediation from the University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’.

At Climate Focus, Laura drives key human resources initiatives, overseeing the management and optimisation of the HR information system. She is responsible for end-to-end talent acquisition strategies, from job design and advertising to candidate selection, contract negotiation, and relocation support. Laura ensures organizational compliance with labor legislation, with an initial focus on German employment law, while also guiding policy development and implementation. Her remit includes the design and coordination of staff training and development programs, managing the annual performance review cycle, conducting benchmarking analyses, and overseeing 360-degree feedback processes. She also plays an integral role in employee engagement and workplace culture, providing support in employee relations, conflict resolution, and representation. A key focus of her work is driving forward the implementation of Climate Focus’ Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategy, alongside supporting organizational development at the Berlin office.

When Laura isn’t exploring the depths as a passionate scuba diver or trying out new recipes in the kitchen, she can often be found on the yoga mat, challenged by a crossword puzzle, or enjoying the tranquility of the great outdoors — and sometimes, all three at once.
