Hilda Galt is a Lead Consultant at Climate Focus, where she offers advisory services to foundations, governments, multilateral institutions, and the private sector on a variety of climate-related issues. With over a decade of experience in climate change mitigation, her areas of expertise include voluntary and compliance carbon markets, international climate policy, and results-based climate finance. Hilda is also a member of the Technical Advisory Group of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), where she provides input into the development of Beyond Value Chain Mitigation guidance affecting companies with net-zero targets.

Prior to joining Climate Focus, Hilda worked with a non-governmental organization to improve women’s access to clean water, fuels, and sanitation. She also worked for Veolia Water Scotland, where she developed a carbon footprint of their wastewater treatment operations and identified opportunities for improving corporate sustainability efforts.

Hilda has a science background and holds two degrees from the University of Edinburgh: an MSc in Carbon Management, and a BSc in Ecological Science (Conservation and Ecological Management). Additionally, she holds a diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation in Development Projects from the Maastricht School of Management.
