Clarissa Hediger is a consultant at Climate Focus. She focuses on research and advisory services specifically on climate finance, land-use systems and carbon market mechanisms. She also supports a variety of partners including governments and private sector clients with due diligence and programmes to achieve their climate goals.

Prior to joining Climate Focus, Clarissa worked for 2.5 years as an auditor and financial crime consultant at KPMG primarily focused on UN-projects and the Red Cross in Africa/LATAM. Until recently, Clarissa was a Sustainable Finance Manager and subject matter expert to Saudi Arabia’s ESG Banking Committee at the Central Bank of the Kingdom, where she focused on structuring sustainable investments, regenerative agriculture partnerships, and advise on regulatory frameworks for the broader financial sector. Additionally, she worked as a sustainability consultant to the City of Paris Zero Plastic Program and to a Berlin-based company’s sustainability transformation. Clarissa has been involved with various social start-ups and enterprises, subsequently leading her to co-found “SDG Impact Stories”.

Clarissa holds an MSc in Sustainability Management from ESCP and a CFA in Sustainable Investments. Her thesis focused on the barriers and opportunities for the transition to regenerative soy in Brazil as enacted by diverse actors throughout the food system value chain.

Clarissa grew up close to the lake and mountains and enjoys spending most of her time in nature. She speaks French, English, Portuguese, German and some Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys diverse sport activities, dancing, yoga, skiing, music, and has a growing passion for regenerative agriculture.
