Andrés Zabala

Andrés Zabala is a consultant at Climate Focus. He specializes in climate finance and land use. He has broad experience in financial and risk modeling analysis in the agricultural sector, particularly in the analysis of alternatives for climate change adaptation. Prior to joining Climate Focus, Andrés worked as a researcher at the Colombian Corporation for Agricultural Research (AGROSAVIA) and as a research associate at the CIAT-Bioversity Alliance, where he conducted economic and financial analysis in tropical crops such as cacao agroforestry systems, avocado, and passion flowers.

Andrés holds a B.Sc. in Agronomic Engineering from Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, an M.Sc. in Natural Resources and Agricultural Economics from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Education from Purdue University in the U.S.A. In his spare time, Andrés enjoys biking in the Colombian mountains and running 10Ks and half-marathons.
