Linking FLEGT and REDD+ to Improve Forest Governance

The great potential for synergies between FLEGT and REDD+ has yet to be achieved in practice. This is the conclusion of the recently published ETFRN News “Linking FLEGT and REDD+ to Improve Forest Governance.” The publication presents 22 viewpoints from around the world on linkages between FLEGT, REDD+ and other international forest management initiatives. Darragh Conway, Luke Pritchard, Charlotte Streck and Jeremy Broadhead co-authored the chapter titled “International experience with REDD+ and national forest funds.”

The chapter “International experience with REDD+ and national forest funds” provides a comparative analysis of the operational aspects of eight existing national and regional REDD+, climate change and forest protection funds, drawing on best practices and lessons learned.
