Land use in a future climate agreement

Charlotte Streck joined the team of expert authors producing an options assessment report “Land Use in a Future Climate Agreement”. Prepared with support from cooperative agreement #S-LMAQM-13-CA-1128 with U.S. Department of State.

The report focuses on the role of emissions and removals from land use and is written to support the negotiations on a post-2020 agreement being conducted under the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP). It offers options to increase the coverage and mitigation effectiveness of land-use contributions and explores requirements for increasing the clarity, transparency and understanding of these contributions. The report also examines options for creating incentives in the land-use sector that will increase mitigation ambition.
