Implementing Article 6 of the Paris Agreement in the Solid Waste Sector in Peru

Climate Focus supports the governments of Perú and the Nordic countries in assessing opportunities for the Peruvian waste sector under Articles 6.2 and 6.4 of the Paris Agreement and has designed a conceptual pilot for ITMO transactions, in light of the emerging international guidance – Paris Rulebook-, modalities and procedures for Article 6 and carbon markets. Climate Focus supports these governments in navigating the complexities of the new climate regime through a preliminary design of the components of a Mitigation Outcome Purchase Agreement (MOPA).
