Climate Focus and partner Meridian Institute are supporting the World Bank, World Cocoa Foundation, and Cocoa/Chocolate companies as part of the Cocoa and Forests Initiative (CFI). Building on our work on deforestation commitments in cocoa and aligning stakeholders to produce climate-smart cocoa we are now supporting companies to develop their Action Plans as part of the Frameworks for Action in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire under the CFI. And together with Meridian Institute we are working to bring more blended finance to a sustainable cocoa sector, link the CFI to other global deforestation commitments and initiatives, and align private sector actions in the cocoa forest landscape to the emission reduction and forest investment programs within the World Bank.
