Design options for integrated carbon pricing systems in Chile

Climate Focus and partners, OfReC Regulation and Compliance and EBP, are advising the Chilean Ministry of Energy on design options for an integrated set of carbon pricing mechanisms. Supported by financing from the Partnership for Market Readiness, the publication seeks to support the Chilean government in building upon their existing carbon tax, through considering options for a more complete and integrated approach to carbon pricing, that could potentially include carbon taxes, emissions trading systems, offsets and other complementary measures, such as subsidies, rebates and support schemes.
