Nicole Krämer is a Consultant at Climate Focus. She primarily works on carbon markets and the new market mechanisms under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, closely following the UNFCCC negotiations. Within this context, she also works on and is interested in the developments around blue carbon and the role of coastal ecosystems and oceans as mitigation solutions.
Before joining Climate Focus, Nicole completed an MA in International Relations from the Humboldt University of Berlin, Free University Berlin and Potsdam University, with a focus on global challenges and international climate governance. During this time, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Humboldt University of Berlin, analyzing and organizing seminars on various issues, including the role of global climate standards and how these can foster sustainable education systems.
Nicole also holds a BA in Political Science from York University in Toronto, Canada and fluently speaks English, German and Turkish. In her spare time, she loves to paint, read, enjoy the outdoors and experiment with new foods.
