Lynda Singletary is the office manager at Climate Focus North America. Her responsibilities include financial management and procurement, human resources, and general administration.
Prior to joining the Climate Focus team, Lynda worked in disaster response and recovery for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Health and Human Services and a number of other U.S. government agencies. She concentrated on consequence management, focusing on public health and the environmental considerations of disaster management. Before relocating to Washington, DC, she lived in New York and worked as a journalist and in the non-profit sector as a development writer for the American Civil Liberties Union and the Hospital for Special Surgery.
Lynda holds degrees from University of Oregon (BA in journalism) and American University (MA in International Communication) and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from New York University.
She is passionate about reading, traveling, social justice, and all things “Portlandia,” where she first became interested in disaster response and recovery in the wake of the Mt. St. Helens eruption.
