Barbara Herrmann is a legal consultant at Climate Focus. Her current work focuses on forest and land use-related mitigation and governance, climate law and policy, as well as designing and communicating carbon pricing.
Prior to joining Climate Focus, Barbara conducted fieldwork in New Delhi, India, as part of her MSc thesis on the role of aid in the decarbonization of developing countries. Before that, she worked as a consultant for the German development agency GIZ implementing and organizing anti-corruption trainings in São Paulo, Brazil, as well as supporting their coordination in six other Latin American countries.
Barbara holds a MSc from the University of Amsterdam (International Development Studies) and a LLB from the University of Groningen (International and European Law). In her spare time, she enjoys water sports, dancing and being outdoors. Barbara speaks Portuguese, Spanish, German and English.
