Climate Focus to develop 2021 edition of State and Trends of Carbon Pricing

The World Bank selected Climate Focus to co-develop the 2021 edition of its flagship carbon pricing publication, State and Trends of Carbon Pricing. Launched in 2002, State and Trends has long been the go-to source of information on carbon pricing and carbon markets for practitioners and policymakers alike.

The State and Trends reports combine comprehensive overviews of the most up-to-date carbon pricing developments at all levels of government with cutting-edge analysis of the latest trends and where carbon pricing is heading. Having expanded their scope in recent year, the reports now cover the full range of carbon pricing instruments, including carbon taxes, emissions trading, voluntary carbon markets, international carbon pricing initiatives under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and the maritime and aviation sector, and internal carbon pricing.

Working hand-in-hand with the World Bank team, Climate Focus intends to make State and Trends of Carbon Pricing 2021 the most accessible, insightful, and influential edition to date. The new edition will build on the strengths of previous editions while integrating new features and insights that respond to readers’ needs. The report will delve into both emerging trends and their underlying drivers, providing insights that serve to inform and inspire readers, from decision-makers in governments and businesses to campaigners, practitioners, and researchers.
