Wangui Muna is a Nairobi-based consultant leading the development of innovative businesses at the agriculture-energy nexus under the USAID-funded Catalytic Sustainable Agribusiness Investment project. Wangui has an academic background in finance and has ample experience in business advisory, focusing on enterprise development, acceleration and financial due diligence. Prior to joining Climate Focus she was the project lead at NetBizImpact Ltd. managing the firm’s Market and Investment Readiness Program which identified, nurtured and scaled game changing innovations in agribusiness and renewable energy. In this role she linked high potential businesses in East Africa to capital, market and technology. In addition to this she has also worked for the USAID-Kenya Mission in the Power Africa Trade Africa Initiative as well as the Financial Inclusion for Rural Micro Enterprises Programme. The latter was a financing programme targeting agriculture, clean/renewable energy and policy reform with the aim to expand access to affordable financial services to marginalised businesses and entrepreneurs throughout Kenya.
In her free time, Wangui is an active member of Lions Club International-Nairobi Karen, where she serves the needy in the community and participates in environmental conservation activities. She also enjoys farming, outdoor activities and travelling. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business Administration-Finance and a Master of Business Administration Finance, both from the United States International University – Africa.
