Commodities and Forests Agenda 2020 launched by the Tropical Forest Alliance 2020

Climate Focus and the Tropica Forest Alliance 2020 (TFA) have been engaged for the past year in efforts to identify the areas in which the most urgent action is required to remove deforestation from agricultural supply chains. The culmination of our work is the Commodities and Forests Agenda 2020 wherein 10 priority areas and their evidence-base are presented for company executives, policy-makers and civil society leaders to reflect on when determining their efforts to stop commodity-driven deforestation. These 10 areas were presented at Climate Week NYC 2017 as a framework for action at the global and regional level to accelerate progress for the more than 190 entities committed to the New York Declaration on Forests. The Agenda conveys to all those responsible for safeguarding forests and sustainable food production where their efforts must intensify if the 2020 goal is to be met.
